This Cookie Policy explains how Management inSites, Inc. (“Management inSites,” “MI,” “we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on managementinsites.com and its subdomains and language versions (the “Site”).
Because we work with companies based outside the United States, visitors to this Site are often located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere. We aim to meet the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the EU ePrivacy Directive for all visitors, regardless of where you are.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly how we handle personal data.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On each later request, the browser sends the file back, which lets the site recognise your browser, remember a setting, or measure how the site is being used.
We use “cookies” in this policy as shorthand for cookies and for related technologies that work the same way, including browser local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kits.
Two distinctions matter for your choices:
- First-party vs. third-party. First-party cookies are set under our own domain. Third-party cookies are set by another company whose service we have embedded in the Site.
- Session vs. persistent. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they reach their stated expiry date or you delete them.
2. Your choices and how to withdraw consent
Cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver the Site are set automatically, because the Site cannot function without them. Every other cookie described in this policy is set only after you consent. You are under no obligation to consent, and declining will not restrict your access to any part of the Site.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, with the same ease as giving it, by opening your cookie preferences:
[[MANAGE COOKIE PREFERENCES — SEE BRANCH A/B ABOVE]]
Withdrawing consent stops future collection. It does not automatically erase data already collected while your consent was active. To request deletion of that data, contact us using the details in section 11.
3. Categories of cookies we use
The tables below list the cookies observed on the Site at the last review date. Cookie names and durations are set by the providers and can change when they update their services. If you find a cookie on the Site that is not listed here, please tell us and we will investigate and update this page.
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Site to work and for us to honor your privacy choices. They are set without consent because the Site cannot be delivered without them. They do not track you across other websites and are not used for marketing.
| Cookie | Provider / domain | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
[[CONSENT COOKIE NAME(S) — TRANSCRIBED FROM THE LIVE SITE]] |
[[CONSENT TOOL NAME]] — managementinsites.com |
Stores your cookie consent choices so the banner is not shown again and so non-essential scripts stay blocked unless you have allowed them. | [[CONSENT COOKIE DURATION]] |
[[CONSENT LOCAL-STORAGE KEY, IF THE TOOL USES ONE]] |
[[CONSENT TOOL NAME]] — managementinsites.com |
Browser local storage holding the settings the consent banner needs to display correctly, including which version of this policy you last accepted. It contains no information that identifies you. | Until cleared in your browser |

WordPress — managementinsites.com |
Checks whether your browser accepts cookies. Required for the login and comment forms to work. | Session |

3.2 Functional cookies
These cookies remember choices you make so the Site behaves the way you expect on later visits, for example which language version you selected. They are not used to build a profile of you or to target advertising. They are set only with your consent.
| Cookie | Provider / domain | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
[[LANGUAGE COOKIE NAME]] |
[[TRANSLATION PLUGIN]] — managementinsites.com |
Remembers whether you are viewing the English or Italian version of the Site. | [[DURATION]] |

WordPress — managementinsites.com |
If you leave a comment, remembers the name, email address, and website you entered so you do not have to retype them. | [[DURATION — typically 12 months]] |
3.3 Analytics and session recording cookies
These cookies help us understand how the Site is used — which pages are visited, which links are clicked, where visitors run into difficulty — so that we can improve it. They are set only with your consent.
Please read this carefully. Some of the cookies in this category contain a unique identifier that is stored on your device for up to 13 months and allows our analytics provider to recognize your browser across visits. Under the GDPR that identifier is personal data, even though it does not contain your name. This category is not anonymous, and we do not describe it as anonymous. See section 5 for what our session-recording tool does and does not capture.
| Cookie | Provider / domain | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_cs_id |
Contentsquare — managementinsites.com |
Assigns and stores a unique identifier for your browser, together with the time it was created, the number of visits, and the times of your most recent page view and visit. This is what allows repeat visits to be recognized. | 13 months |
_cs_s |
Contentsquare — managementinsites.com |
Counts the pages viewed in your current visit and records whether the visit is being captured for session replay. | 30 minutes, renewed with each action |
_cs_c |
Contentsquare — managementinsites.com |
Records whether you have consented to session data being used in replays, and therefore whether the recording of your visit is fully masked. | 13 months |
_cs_t |
Contentsquare — managementinsites.com |
Technical check that runs when the analytics script loads. It writes a fixed value to confirm your browser accepts cookies, then deletes itself. It stores no information about you. | Written and deleted immediately (some scanners report this as “session”) |
_cs_same_site |
Contentsquare — managementinsites.com |
Technical check for whether your browser supports the SameSite cookie attribute, so the remaining cookies can be set securely. Deletes itself
immediately. |
Written and deleted immediately |
_cs_root-domain |
Contentsquare — managementinsites.com |
Technical check that determines the correct domain on which to set the analytics cookies. Deletes itself immediately. | Written and deleted immediately |
[[_ga / _ga_MEASUREMENT-ID IF GOOGLE ANALYTICS IS LIVE]] |
Google — managementinsites.com |
Distinguishes visitors and measures traffic and page performance. | [[DURATION]] |
_cs_t, _cs_same_site, and _cs_root-domain store no
information about you. We list them under analytics rather than as necessary cookies
because they exist only to support the analytics script, and that script does not run
unless you have consented to analytics.
3.4 Advertising and targeting cookies
We do not currently use advertising or targeting cookies on this Site, and we do not sell or share personal data with advertising networks. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting any such cookie.
4. Third parties and international transfers
The providers listed below may act as processors on our behalf or, in some cases, as controllers in their own right. Their own notices govern what they do with the data they receive, and we encourage you to read them.
| Provider | Service | Privacy information |
|---|---|---|
| Contentsquare SAS | Website analytics and session replay | contentsquare.com/privacy-center |
| GOOGLE LLC | Website analytics | policies.google.com/privacy |

Management inSites is based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States or other countries outside the EEA and the UK. Where personal data collected through cookies is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on [[TRANSFER MECHANISM — e.g. the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and/or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified]]. You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards using the contact details in section 11.
5. Session recording — what it captures
Confirm this section applies before publishing. If Contentsquare is not deliberately deployed on the production Site, delete this section and the corresponding table rows in 3.3 and 4.
With your consent to analytics cookies, our analytics provider may record a playback of your visit. A recording can include the pages you viewed, mouse movement, scrolling, clicks and taps, and the approximate size of your screen. Recordings are used to diagnose usability problems, not to identify individuals.
Recordings are configured so that:
- keystrokes typed into form fields are masked and are not reconstructed;
- fields we have designated as sensitive — including name, email address, and telephone number on our contact form — are excluded from capture;
- we do not record any payment card details, and none are collected on this Site.
[[VERIFY THE THREE STATEMENTS ABOVE AGAINST THE ACTUAL MASKING CONFIGURATION IN THE CONTENTSQUARE PROJECT SETTINGS. Do not publish them if they have not been checked — an inaccurate masking claim is worse than no claim.]]
If you do not consent to analytics cookies, no recording of your visit is made.
6. How long cookies last
Each cookie's duration is listed in the tables above. The longest-lived cookie described in this policy expires 13 months after it is set or last updated. Browsers also impose their own limits and may delete cookies sooner. You can delete all cookies at any time using your browser settings.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
Independently of the choices you make on this Site, your browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies will break parts of most websites, including this one. Instructions for the major browsers:
Deleting cookies also deletes the cookie that stores your consent choices, so the consent banner will appear again on your next visit.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
[[CHOOSE ONE AND DELETE THE OTHER.]]
Option A, if your consent tool honours GPC: Where your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent to non-essential cookies. There is no common standard for the older Do Not Track header, and we do not respond to it.
Option B, if it does not: There is no common industry standard for the Do Not Track browser header or the Global Privacy Control signal, and this Site does not currently respond to either. Please use the cookie preferences link in section 2 to record your choices.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Where our processing relies on your consent, withdrawing it is always free and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 11. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
10. Changes to this policy
We review this policy when we change the tools used on the Site, and at least once a year. When we make material changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where the change requires it, ask for your consent again.
