This policy explains what personal information Management inSites, Inc. (“Management inSites,” “MI,” “we,” “us”) collects through managementinsites.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it.
MI is a management and marketing consultancy based in Charlotte, North Carolina. We help companies based outside the United States establish and run U.S. operations. Because of that, most people who contact us are located in Europe or elsewhere outside the U.S. We therefore apply the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR to everyone who uses this website, wherever you are.

1. In short
This website is an information and enquiry site. You cannot buy anything on it, and you do not need an account to use it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertising networks.
We collect personal information when you send it to us — through a form on the Site, by email, by phone call, by text message, or by applying for a job — and, if you consent to analytics cookies, automatically as you browse. The sections below take each of these in turn.

3. Information you give us
3.1 Contact form
Our contact form asks for your first name, last name, phone number, email address, and a message. We use it to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. Providing a phone number is optional; if you leave it blank we will reply by email.
3.2 Organizational Audit Form
The Organizational Audit Form is a detailed questionnaire that lets our senior consultants prepare for a free one-hour consultation. It is longer than a contact form and asks for more than contact details. Alongside your name, job title, company, email address, and company website, it asks about:
- where your parent company is headquartered, and how long it has been in business;
- the products or services your company sells;
- your parent company's total global sales, the share of those sales made outside your domestic market, and your sales growth objectives for the next three years;
- how many full-time employees the parent company has;
- whether and how you already sell into the United States, and your U.S. order volumes;
- your warehousing, manufacturing, and site-location plans and timelines;
- who within your organisation is responsible for U.S. expansion, their role, and who they report to;
- whether you plan to send employees from the parent company to live and work in the United States, how many, and in which positions.
Two things to be aware of before you submit this form.
It asks for commercially sensitive information. Sales figures, growth targets, headcount, and expansion plans are confidential business information, not contact details. We treat them as confidential and use them only to prepare your consultation. Please do not enter anything you are not authorized to share, and feel free to leave any field blank — only your name and email address are needed for us to get back to you.
Some questions ask about other people. Two questions ask you to identify colleagues: the person responsible for U.S. expansion, and any employees you plan to relocate to the United States. If you name or describe those people, you are giving us personal information about someone else. Please only do so if you are permitted to, and please make sure those colleagues know. Section 6 explains how we handle it.
Submissions are sent to the MI consulting team by email, and stored in Google Drive.
3.3 Text messages
If you give us your mobile phone number, we may reply to you by text message. Message and data rates may apply. We send one SMS in reply, and you can stop further messages at any time by replying STOP.
We do not share mobile phone numbers, or any information collected in connection with text messaging, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We use your number only to communicate with you directly about your enquiry, and with the messaging provider that delivers the message on our behalf.
3.4 Job applications
If you apply for a role with us, we collect the information you send — typically your CV, your contact details, and any covering message. We use it only to assess your application for the role you applied for, and for other openings if you ask us to keep it on file.
Applications reach us via email. We keep unsuccessful applications for 1 year and then delete them.
3.5 Email and phone
If you email or call us directly, we keep a record of the correspondence so we can help you and maintain our business records.
4. Information collected automatically
Our web host and security systems record standard technical information for every visit, including your IP address, the pages requested, and timestamps. This is necessary to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Beyond that, we use analytics only if you consent. Analytics may involve a persistent identifier stored in your browser for up to 13 months and, where enabled, a playback recording of how you moved through the site. This is described in full in our Cookie Policy, which lists each cookie, its provider, and how long it lasts. We do not repeat that detail here so the two documents cannot fall out of step.
Analytics identifiers are personal data under the GDPR even though they do not contain your name. We do not describe our analytics as anonymous.
4.1 Content embedded from other websites
Some pages include content hosted elsewhere — for example maps, video, or social media posts. Embedded content behaves as though you had visited the other website directly. That means the provider can collect information about you, set its own cookies, and monitor how you interact with the embedded item, including linking it to an account if you are logged in to that provider.
We do not control what those providers collect, and their own privacy notices apply. Our Cookie Policy lists the embeds in use on the Site and links to each provider's notice. Where consent is required before an embed loads, it will not load until you give it.
5. Our legal bases for using your information
If you are in the EEA or the UK, we must have a legal basis for each use of your personal information. Ours are:

Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, free of charge, and doing so does not affect anything we did lawfully beforehand. Where we rely on legitimate interests you can object, and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds not to.
6. Information about people other than you
Our Organizational Audit Form asks about colleagues — the person responsible for U.S. expansion, and any employees you plan to relocate to the United States. When you answer those questions we receive personal information about someone who has not dealt with us directly.
Where that happens:
- we use the information only to prepare and deliver the consultation you asked for;
- we do not use it to contact those individuals for marketing;
- we keep it for the same period as the rest of your submission (section 8);
- if one of those individuals contacts us, we will tell them we hold their information, where it came from, and how to have it corrected or erased.
If you are submitting the form, please make sure you are entitled to share your colleagues' details and that they know you are doing so. You can leave those fields blank.
7. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks. We do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing.
We do use service providers who process information on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions:

Our Cookie Policy names the specific analytics and embedded-content providers used on the site and links to their own privacy notices.
8. How long we keep information

9. Sending information outside your country
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or elsewhere. If you are in the EEA or the UK, this means your information will be transferred out of your home jurisdiction.
You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards in place using the details in section 13.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of what we hold, including encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting access to staff who need it. No website or email system is perfectly secure. Please do not send us sensitive information you would not want transmitted over the internet; if you need a secure channel for something confidential, ask us and we will arrange one.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have information erased;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
- not be subject to a decision made solely by automated means. We do not make such decisions.
Residents of California and certain other U.S. states have comparable rights, including the right to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you may still exercise your other rights. We will not treat you differently for doing so.
To exercise any right, contact us using the details in section 13. We will respond within the time the applicable law requires, normally one month. We may need to verify your identity first.
If you are in the EEA or the UK and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
12. Children
This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once a year and whenever we change the tools or forms used on the site. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date at the top of this page, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again.
